Always read the instruction manual carefully before using your baby carrier to ensure safe and proper use. Remember to check on your child regularly while carrying, making sure they are comfortable and secure at all times.
Boba Ring Sling
We've compiled all our instructional content in one tidy place so you can comfortably enjoy every second of your babywearing journey with the Boba Ring Sling baby carrier!
This will be amazingly snug and comfortable but remember — it’s a new experience for you and your baby! Take your time to ease into this new leg of your journey.
1. Make sure that baby is well-fed and not overtired when you first start using the carrier.
2. Try practicing in front of the mirror.
3. If baby starts getting fussy, just hold your baby, take a deep breath and a few steps around the room until you’re both ready to continue.
4. Once positioned correctly, your baby should be snug against your body, high on your chest, enabling you to stand normally, just as if you were holding them in your arms.

THREADING YOUR RING SLING
1. Drape the ring sling fabric over your shoulder, make sure it's nice and flat, not twisted.
2. Gather the tail of your ring sling fabric in accordion style.
3. Pass the fabric tail through both rings from underneath.
4. Spread the rings apart and pull the fabric tail over the top ring and through the bottom ring, just like threading a belt buckle.
5. Spread the fabric evenly through the rings, making sure it moves smoothly through the rings without bunching or snagging.
You really only need to do this every once in a while or when washing your ring sling!
NEWBORN HOLD
Here are a few key points for a comfortable and secure carry:
1. When the sling is threaded, measure how much fabric you need for a perfect fit. Ideally your baby will sit at your hip level.
2. Hold your baby in your arms and position them on the ring sling pouch in a secure ergonomic position.
3. Ensure the ring sling fabric is spread equally from knee pit to knee pit.
4. Hold the top rail and gently pull the fabric to come up to the back of baby's neck.
5. The even weight distribution will prevent your baby from slumping sideways or their legs dropping down.
6. Baby's torso should be snug against yours to keep the chest cavity uncurled and the chin of the chest.
7. Your baby should feel secure even if you were to lean forward (with one hand on the baby's head).
HIP CARRY
Quick step by step:
1. Start with the rings high, just under your collar bone.
2. Lower baby from your shoulder down to position, so that your baby is sitting on the sling fabric and it's in line with the back of your baby’s knees.
3. Allow your baby’s bottom to pop over the edge so that it is sitting lower than their knees. That will ensure that baby is seated in a deep squat.
4. Provide a hammock seat by pulling the top rail up from under your baby’s bottom and position over their back and under their neck.
5. Adjust by lifting baby’s weight as you tighten the fabric by pulling across your body through the rings.
If the fit still has room for improvement...
Make sure your ring sling is snug. If you feel the baby sagging in the carrier, you can get rid of the slack by tightening the fabric.
- Easily adjust the fit by gathering the slack from the back along the top edge and bringing it towards the rings.
- You can also tighten by sections! For example, if there is too much slack on the top part, hold the top rail only and pull that section.
- To adjust, always lift your baby with one hand to ensure the fabric runs smoothly through the rings.
The T.I.C.K.S Rule for Safe Babywearing
I - In View: Always see your baby's face to ensure clear airways.
C - Close for Kiss: Position baby high enough for easy kissing.
K - Keep Chin Up: Ensure baby's chin isn't resting on their chest.
S - Supported Back: Maintain baby's back in a natural, supported position.

Head support for a little (sleeping) baby.
The tail of the ring sling works as perfect head support for a newborn or a sleeping baby.
Gather or roll the left over fabric and rimply tuck it under the top rail behind baby's neck for support and visibility. Always make sure your baby’s face is unobstructed by any kind of fabric and that their nose and mouth are at least parallel with the floor or pointing up.
Tummy To Tummy Benefits
The inward-facing carry, also known as the “tummy to tummy” position, keeps the baby as close to your center of gravity as possible, so their weight is distributed evenly around your body as baby curls in. Wearers often need to lean back to compensate for the baby’s weight when facing out.
The spread squat oriented towards the parent position allows for good airflow, spine and hip support. It is also a safe position for babies to sleep - not to mention a common favorite place to nap with their little head resting on your chest surrounded by the familiar smell and sound of your heartbeat!
